Clinical Occupational Therapist II, (Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team) Permanent Full-Time, Mental Health and Addictions, Queensway Building, Grand Falls-Windsor

Definition of work:

This is an advanced professional level position involving a high degree of responsibility, autonomy and independence. The Occupational Therapist is an integral member of the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team (FACT TEAM) that provides intensive mobile services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and concurrent related complexities of mental health issues/disorders. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for employment and pre-employment/education initiatives (ie: skill development, job search assistance, skills assessment, pre-employment work and education related linkages to funding programs and employment maintenance duties) as well as providing expertise in assessing overall client functioning and self-care, education regarding nutrition, assistance to ensure nutritional needs are met, discussing personal care regimes, in vivo skills teaching, environmental modification, side by side assistance, providing transportation, and other related duties as specified by the FACT team and the Regional Manager of Mental Health and Addictions. The successful candidate is responsible for general case management duties as well as assisting when necessary in a shared care approach for clients needing high intensity-based services.

The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:
* Graduate degree specializing in Occupational Therapy from an approved university.
* Certification with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT).
* Licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board (NLOTB).
* 2 years current experience (within the last 5 years) in an addictions and/or mental health setting.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in areas of community, policy, and program development, as well as, program evaluation.
* Demonstrated research, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Daily use of a private vehicle for employment.
* Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Stewardship and Quality.
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Financial Incentives may be available for this position

Hours of Work: 75 hours bi-weekly (shift work may be required)
Salary: CG-43 ($41.03-$48.39)
