Job Description

Definition of work:
Reporting to the Vice President of Integrated Health and Chief Nursing Executive, this challenging regional leadership position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the provision of radiology services to the clients of Central Regional Health Authority through the operation of twelve regional diagnostic imaging centres. The services provided include General Radiography, Radio-Fluoroscopy, Bone Mineral Density, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Mammography, Breast Screening program, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

Services must be delivered in a manner that meets or exceeds accepted radiology practices and must be done in an effective and financially responsible manner within budgetary guidelines in a constantly changing environment. The position is responsible for regional policy formation and implementation for diagnostic imaging services at Central Health, ensuring that these policies are relevant and follow nationally accepted radiography practices.

In planning for the future provision of radiology services at Central Health, focus must be new program and project development and implementation, along with human resources planning. Budget development has to be accomplished within government guidelines in an atmosphere where it is increasingly difficult to recruit new staff and where there are many needs competing for limited financial resources. The successful candidate will bring a strong patient-centered approach to the delivery of services and will partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:
* Successful completion of a three year medical radiography technology program and/or a sonography program.
* An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
* Current license with Sonography Canada and/or Canadian Medical Association of Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
* Demonstrated progressive management experience, proven leadership qualities, exceptional communication skills and the ability to function effectively in a high pressure, diverse and changing environment.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise.
* Dynamic leadership style which demonstrates emotional maturity, self-awareness and evidence of values- based leadership focused on engaging others, developing coalitions, and achieving results.
* Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
* Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Equity and Safety.
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for exceptional candidates who do not possess all of these qualifications.

Preferred qualifications:
* A master's degree in a relevant field.
* Experience and education in the use of quality improvement and waste reduction models for healthcare.
